From Santiago you will take the old road to the central coast through very nice towns and villages to get to El Monte where Francisco Undurraga was one of the pioneers in the Chilean viticulture and winemaking. In 1882 he acquired an agriculture estate 34km. from Santiago, in the province of Tailgate where he planted vines which he had brought personally from Europe in lead capsules in order to resist the passage through the tropics. The first shipment were made to United States in 1903. At present Viña Undurraga exports its wine to more than 70 countries in the five continents. We will visit the Viña Undurraga gardens-designed by the renowned French landscaper Pierre Dubois-the modern vilification plant and the underground cellars. This visit ends with three Reserva wines.
